Eunice Amissah-Mensah

Eunice is from Ghana, West Africa. She holds a degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University. She has been serving as the Urban Planner for the City of Rock Island since 2023, and is a certified member of the American Planning Association. Eunice has a deep appreciation for nature and enjoys walking through our parks, using them as a way to stay grounded and connected to the community. She believes parks are essential to the social, environmental, and physical well-being of our city, and she's excited to contribute her professional background and passion for public spaces to the Parks & Recreation Foundation Board.

Why is Eunice on the Rock Island Park Foundation?

I joined the Parks & Rec. Foundation because parks have always been a meaningful part of my life. Whether it’s walking to clear my mind or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, I’ve come to see parks as essential to our individual well-being and community spirit. Being part of the Foundation gives me the chance to give back to the spaces that give so much to all of us.
